These are bronze acoustic strings meant to be used with a piezo pickup, not a magnetic pickup. Octave mandolin sets are for GDAE, GDAD, or ADAD tuning with all strings tuned in unison pairs. The Irish and Greek bouzouki sets are the ones to use if you want to tune with octave pairs on the lower courses (which is optional for Irish players but pretty much obligatory for Greek ones).
