Rufus Thibodeaux
I don't have a picture of Rufus handy, but here's his mandolin—a heavily
customized mid-1950s Fender "Mandocaster" (serial no. 00500) with a purple metal
flake finish, Grover tuners, and a Gibson P-90 pickup.
Known primarily as a Cajun fiddler, Rufus also appeared
on the Grand Ole Opry. He reportedly used this instrument on recordings with Bob
Wills, George Jones, Neil Young, Jimmy C. Newman, Faron Young, and Lonzo and
Oscar.
