Indie songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Reid is the proud owner of this Chrysalis mandocello. Designed by Tim White, Chrysalis instruments consisted of carbon-fiber frames with, believe it or not, a sound chamber consisting of a Mylar balloon. The instruments could be disassembled for travel. I don't know how many Chrysalis guitars were built, but there are only two mandocellos.
