Moses McKinley
Wild Explorer-style “Z Mando” from Utah luthier McKinley. Semi-hollow Honduran mahogany body with maple cap and sparkling goldburst finish. Maple neck with truss rod, radiused ebony fretboard; 13.875″ scale length and pearl block inlays. Grover tuners. Through-body tailpiece design; conventional ebony mandolin bridge with Fishman Sonitone piezo pickup. It’s powered by a 9-volt battery, and has internal tone and volume controls— which evidently means you'd have to remove the back panel to adjust the volume. But hey, we can't deny that it looks cool.
