Formerly with New Grass Revival, Sam is an acclaimed solo artist on mandolin and fiddle. He's performed and recorded with Emmylou Harris, Lyle Lovett, and Garth Brooks, just to name a few. His primary instrument, "Hoss," is a 1930s Gibson F5, but he also plays a resophonic slide mandolin and a Fender electric (pictured here). I've also seen him perform with a Washburn 4-string electric.
