The late Mr. Docy, of St. Petersburg, Florida, may well have been the most prolific small-shop mandolin builder. At 86 years of age, he had produced over 3,000 mandolins. They're not fancy but they get the job done. This particular instrument has a spruce top and zebrawood back and sides—and yes, Virginia, it does have an onboard pickup.
