I didn't get the impression that Mr. Geijer plans to become a full-time builder, but here's what he had to say about his first solidbody 8-string mandolin:

     "The name is still on the undecided side, but it's somewhat leaning towards Bondo, as that, due to lack of wood working skills and planning, became a rather large part of the finished product.
     "Anyway. The top is cherry, the back is oak. The neck is unknown wood shop leftovers. Stew-Mac provided the preslotted rosewood fretboard, and the electronics are a couple of old active EMGs I butchered one of my guitars for. Weighing in at just under seven pounds, I'm figuring it falls into the heavyweight segment."
