8-String Sets
Need some strings for
your 8-string electric mandolin? (If you want a 5-string
set, I also have those.) If you have a magnetic pickup, you
shouldn't use bronze acoustic mandolin strings, because you'll get a
weak signal. Emando sells a set of nickel steel strings for standard
GDAE tuning. Here are the details:
Along with your payment, please include your name, address (P.O. boxes OK), and e-mail address, and specify loop-end or ball-end. If you're ordering from overseas, please first so I can figure out the shipping rate. |

If you want to calculate the string tension you'll get when you put these strings on your mandolin, use this handy calculation tool. I'm not the only one to offer 8-string sets, although I may be the only one selling them in ball-end. They're somewhat easier to find than they used to be, but still not what you'd call commonplace. Here are some photos of string packages from manufacturers past and present. See the FAQ for further advice on which strings to purchase for your e-mando. |
